The Reasons Why People Need To Eat Plant Foods

Bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, carotenoids, vitamins, phytoestrogens, glucosinolates, and anthocyanins present in fruits and vegetables. There are many reasons why people need to eat plant foods to promote their health.
The source of antioxidants can be found in plants, such as grapes, apples, tomatoes, etc. The process of oxidation in the human body damages cell membranes and other structures, including cellular proteins, lipids, and DNA. When oxygen is metabolized, it creates unstable molecules called ‘free radicals’, which steal electrons from other molecules, causing damage to DNA and other cells. A diet high in antioxidants may reduce the risk of many diseases, including heart disease and certain cancers.
The body's immune system is designed to fight off threats, like infection-causing germs, through a process called inflammation. But a steady state of inflammation can lead to everything from diabetes to autoimmune diseases to heart disease to cancer. That’s why we need to eat food which has an anti-inflammatory activity, including blueberry, papayas, sweet potatoes, etc. Anti-inflammatory food may lower the risk of chronic disease and helps maintain a healthy weight.
There is no miracle food that can cure cancer, but in some cancer cases can be prevented by eating certain foods. These foods contain phytochemicals that have anticancer activity in them. Foods in a rich source of anticancer found in colorful plant food, like grapes, cauliflowers, cabbages, etc. anticancer foods may decrease risk of certain types of cancer.
Plant foods are rich sources of bioactive compounds, including antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer. That food can be found in various fruits, and vegetables. That’s why we need to eat plant foods to promote health.
